Travel Diaries: Truly Asia in Malaysia

#SummerSeason is coming! Do you have any plans to travel? Ready your bucket list because there is always something new to discover. Travelling is not all about just exploring the place, the food, the culture, and the people you get along with, but it's also about the way you'll discover what's hidden in you.

I  have spent my early vacay with my dearest cousin, Aya whom I share my interests with. It was both our first time to run away from the busy streets in Manila. Our high school dreams has now started as we happened to fly to Malaysia!

Let's talk about budget, co-millennials. We must somehow admit that we did not have enough resources to save money (unless we won't spend it on our lavish #ootds) because we are still young professionals in the  different fields of work. We booked the plane tickets several months in advance that costs around P5,000 back and forth. Let's enjoy the practical way with equal means of satisfaction.

So.. here we go!

As we entered the airport, we shortly resided at the heart of Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur.

To start with, we only have a 4-day trip at Malaysia. Big thanks to my aunt Con and niece Cait for maximizing our travel itinerary! Forget the poise for a while, cause the long run was worth the rush!

If you are on a limited schedule, I can share my experience. On our first day, we went to the Perdana Botanical Garden. What I like here is that this place is rich in natural abundance. You can witness how the country maintains environmental preservation as they harness the beauty of these God-given resources.

Perdana Botanical Garden

The Perdana Botanical Garden (also known as the Lake Garden) marked its history for a recreational heritage park filled with lively and beautiful tropical plants. In the cloudy city of Kuala Lumpur, we found a place to relax. Start your fresh day ahead here!

It simply has the fascinating sights of the wonders of the nature - from plants, trees, to herbs and the related.

Our next stop was at the Jabatan Muzium Malaysia. We appreciated all the history and culture of the Malayan tradition to the modern times.

Wanderlust in the making

Let's go time travel for a while.. and explore the classics. Did you know that the earliest form of local currency was made from solid blocks of tin metal on an animal shape? Money was embarked in a shape of a fighting cockerel during the 16th century. Cool!

Meanwhile in a break, let's take a journey to explore the amazing view of the vicinity.

Pretty stressed but well dressed. Aren't I?

We spent our slight detour at the nearby Tapak Food Park - where all your cravings will be satisfied, because we did.

Cold nights.. City lights.. The ever-famous bright Petronas Towers caught my sight! End your day with a sparking light. Didn't I get my rhyme right? :)

On the next day, we flew an hour-trip on a plane to Langkawi Island.

It was in the late afternoon when we landed to the airport. So we spent the rest of our time appreciating the sunset sky as it gracefully goes down like splashing rainbows.

The next morning, we all prepared ourselves up for an 3-4 hour island hopping. The place has the most popular and affordable boat tour. If your pocket is on a budget, I highly recommend that you should try this package of activities.

We first discovered the Dayang Bunting Marble Forest Park. Do you know why it's famous? Because it is known for its large freshwater lake surrounded hills dense rain forests recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Geoparks.

Lake of the Pregnant Maiden

This place amazed me with its unique scenery of nature and animal preservation. Such WOW!

I loved the marvelous surroundings of this fresh lake. There are many activities in the area, so we took a short and fun ride on a paddle boat as we've seen the Miracle Border where the lake is separated from the sea from a tiny rocky ridge.

Island of Big Lions

Our next adventure was at the Island of Big Lions. Although there is no lions on the island, it was named for its formed shape. The area is surrounded by lush forests. We even get to witness the swooping spectacle of the Eagles as they catch meat on water.

Our last stop was at the marvelous visit of the Pulalu Senga Island

Island of Wet Rice

This picture perfect Island of Wet Rice gives you a remarkable outlook of the sea and soft white sands. You could really enjoy a picnic and sun bathing here in a vitamin sea setting.

I knew it was the right time and place to get ourselves a mini photoshoot for my sunny summer beach body. Kidding, I was a bit shy to do so. What do you think?

We spent our last visit to the Oriental Village and engaged in activities such as SkyCab, SkyDome, and 3D Art Museum on a package rate before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.

Oriental Village

We rode on a Skycab to see the main highlights of the area. I must admit that I have a fear of heights, but still took pride and courage to walk across the sky bridge just to take pictures, because the site was frighteningly amazing!

Nervous smile with my relatives

With my cousin/travel buddy

Our last attraction was spent to one of my favorites - The 3D Art Museum. The different 3D landscapes was entertaining and superb. It made me feel like a kid again! Age does not hinder the young in you. You must agree with me! :)

It was an adventure to strike a pose on the different theme zones in this museum because it features more than 100 interactive paintings!

Time flies, days have passed. It was our last day at Malaysia where we spent our last-minute trip to the Putrajaya Sightseeing Tour. Putrajaya is known to be the administrative and religious capital of Malaysia. We get to see the different structures of the bridges, mosques, centers and more. Our morning was filled with educational activities while we discover information about Putrajaya.

Well, it was all said and done. I came back to the Philippines in a few hours and realized that our whole 4-day trip can be extended to a week! And guess what, I only spent around P15,000. I really enjoyed our trip to Malaysia and will go to more places soon. I hope my insights helped your #TravelGoals.
