Are you a fan of movies? Then you should watch Papillon! It is now showing in Philippine cinemas starting Sept. 26, 2018. I had been invited for the premiere night at SM Megamall where I also brought my friends with me to be able to catch different reactions to the movie’s plot twist.
Papillon is based on a bestseller book of the same name. It follows the epic story of Henri "Papillon" Charrière (Charlie Hunnam) who is framed for murder and condemned to life in the notorious penal colony on Devil's Island. Determined to regain his freedom, Papillon forms an unlikely alliance with quirky convicted counterfeiter Louis Dega (Rami Malek), who in exchange for protection, agrees to finance Papillon's escape.
We shared a switch of moods over the thrilling story of Papillon's memoir. This is a movie to remember during the colonial period that has to be recognized up-to-date.
