Boracay is known to be one of the world's best islands, located in the municipality of Malay, in Aklan, Philippines. A place to stay by new and returning local and international travelers. White sands, crystal beach and island jewel.

It also used to be a centerpoint of nightlife of all the islands in the Philippines. Especially hopping into La Boracay, a cruise ship that brings all party goers together with the hottest events. Now it is called 'Love Boracay'.
Boracay changed now. Considering the 6-month rehabilitation on improving polluted areas and waking discipline, they finally opened to the public on October 26, 2019. There are hotels who are accredited to guests and still counting.

Fire dance |
The difference is, Boracay is a typical island vibe. Quiet atmosphere by day and night. Cleaner surroundings. Properly natured in terms of establishment service and curfew. Areas in buying 'pasalubong' or souvenirs got smaller and specific, we get there by foot and it took approximately 6-8 minutes from Station 3. There are limited fire dance performances, and we witnessed one in a shopping area. There are existing bars though some closes at 1AM like the place we went at Red Coconut. At OM Bar, speakers were soundproof inside the bar, means that the voice won't distract the outside by its boosted bass, but we left at 3AM and went food tripping with friends.

GRAND BLUE
Since this was my second visit to Boracay, we stayed in Grand Blue Beach Hotel, a budget beachfront hotel located in Station 3. I liked the view from here as I get to witness the amazing ocean view right in front.

Standard Twin Room |

Standard Twin Room |
On our first 2 consecutive days, we stayed in Standard Twin Room. The space is quite big for two, so we enjoyed the rest of the day. Facilities, branded toiletries and welcome drinks were complete. It's just that there was no telephone, but we were a few walks from the lobby so it was pretty convenient. Air conditioner worked well. This one seemed like a backpacker's choice in terms of room space and allocation.

Standard Double Room |
On the next 2 days, we stayed in Standard Double Room located in the second floor of Annex building. Must say that this was the least I can appreciate because of its limited size, good for 2 pax or 1 big pax. It was almost as if we have to angle our body to fit in, with our luggage on the side. And it took a minute or less for us to walk to the lobby since we are on the edge of the hotel. But this room offers the cheapest rate for a beachfront hotel, so why not? It explains. Lol I think this is better for someone who is soul searching, fit to fill thoughts in this secluded space.

Deluxe Garden View |
On the last 2 days, we stayed in Deluxe Garden View. Can you believe that this is my favorite? Felt like I'm just in Bali! Different look and feel to the previous two. Their Bali-inspired design rooms are perfect into bringing a lifelike theme here in Boracay.

The interiors are well presented, uplifting the tropical scenery with a veranda when the garden greets next to the beach. From bed linens to chair pillows, display mugs and shower curtains! Same amenities but larger in space. This room is good for 3 pax. They even have an allotted space beside the comfort room where we could hang our wet clothes at. I'm glad to say I was one of the firsts to witness this room since the opening.
DINING
|
Daing na Bangus and Chorizo Scramble |
|
Longganisa |
|
French Toast |
Scrumptious and freshly-served breakfast were prepared to start my day nice. All served for the American and Asian taste! They do provide plated breakfast for hotel guests. They also serve international lunch and dinner to the public daily from 10AM-10PM.
|
Spicy Gambas |
|
Sizzling Pork Sisig and French Fries |
|
Calamares |
I liked how the rich in flavors combine when served with two different viands in a platter. We almost tried everything in the menu tbh and it was delicious in every bite!
FYI, their new Chinese restaurant just opened for lunch and dinner open daily to the public from 10AM-2PM and 5PM-10PM. They have signature dishes on sea food delights.
BAR
|
Margarita |
Of course we didn't miss the chill 'night life' at their bar by drinking some beverages. This was where we spent our happy hours on the beach! The taste was new to me since I drink (not a lot) of cocktails. The mix of hard and alcohol level has an average ingredient of not making me drunk lol (just had one). They have music band performances sometimes.

Plus, their friendly bartenders let me pick my choice of music. And since I'm forever a fan of EDM, I played party songs and the crowd liked it! Some Latino dance music too. I remembered having a Portugese friend who noticed the songs and we both talked about music and culture.

OM Bar |
If you'd will ask which Boracay I liked between then and now, I'd say now. The old Boracay has lessened with the loud entertainment and busy crowd. Because we have it all here in Manila. We usually 'travel' outside the metro to seek peace in ourselves. So, Boracay has become a calm and chill place to stay.
Since I've been reviewing hotels lately, I'm considering being a travel blogger. And the rainy season won't stop me lol. I would rate Grand Blue 4.8 out of 5. They might lack in means of telephone, but they are presently visible to make your staycation a good, memorable one. Plus, they love accommodating requests for guests in which other hotels don't offer. Clean amenities, hospitable experience and location wise are the best three words to describe Grand Blue.
RECOMMEND
I would recommend Grand Blue Beach Hotel to my peers, and to you as well if you are looking for a cheap, beachfront hotel in Boracay with an adequate space for the room occupancy that serves you more than the worth.
I'd say you'll experience a good tropical vibe at an urban place like Grand Blue. It will be nice to sea them again, soon! #grandblueph
